Tips to Help you Stand Out in a Group Interview

You finally got the call you’ve been waiting for. Your dreams are practically a reality; all you have to do is ace this interview. You walk in, only to find it’s a group interview. Now what?

Group interviews can be nerve wrecking. Not only do you have to worry about the interviewer, but also now your competition is in the room. These are some job interview tips to help you shine.
  1. Be on time:  One of the most important tips, this one should be common interview etiquette.
  2. Prepare a unique and effective intro: In most group interviews you’ll be asked to introduce yourself. Highlight your important skill sets and experience that is relatable in a few lines.
  3. Build on what others say: Listening is always key, but make sure you listen to what everyone in the group is saying. It shows team orientation and a desire to be open to learning from others.
  4. Dress to impress: One of the easiest way to stand apart from your competition is to be the best dressed in the room. Looks professional, but don’t overdo it.
  5. Be unique: Don’t lie to try to fit in with the group. Group interviews are a great opportunity to share what makes you unique and why you stand out.
